Thermally Stable Pulse Profiling Power Sensor

LadyBug Technologies’ 8 GHz thermally stable LB480A USB pulse profiling power sensor is newly updated and better than ever. Unlike similar pulse sensors, the LB480A is capable of delivering a time domain pulse profiling plot over its full dynamic range. In addition to the time domain pulse profile, the sensor will perform statistical functions such as CDF, CCDF & PDF. These statistical peak and pulse measurements can be made with virtually no setup.

100-Watt Conduction Cooled Fixed Attenuator

BroadWave Technologies has developed a small, lightweight 100-Watt Fixed Attenuator. Model series 351-355-XXX* is a space saving 50 Ω, DC-4 GHz attenuator with SMA female connectors. Standard attenuation values are 3, 6, 10, 20 and 30 dB (other attenuation values are available). Conduction cooled attenuators mount to a customer provided heat sink, exhibit 1.45:1 maximum VSWR with an operating temperature range of -40℃ to +40℃. Other connector types and average power conduction cooled fixed attenuators are also available.

UWB Antenna Family

The Antenna Company announced a family of ultra-wideband (UWB) antennas to enable high precision positioning and angle-of-arrival applications for low-power sensors, anchors, and tags. The antennas support worldwide operation on UWB channel 5 (6.5 GHz) and channel 9 (8 GHz). UWB technology enables a location accuracy of 10-cm for real-time location services such as access control, asset tracking, peer-to-peer communication and contact tracing. Applications which utilize 2-way ranging (TWR), Time-Difference of Arrival (TDoA) or Phase Difference of Arrival (PDoA) are also supported.

Frequency Synthesizer Test Boxes Now Available with Power Leveling

Micro Lambda Wireless Inc. announced the release of frequency synthesizer test boxes with either 31.5 dB or 63 dB power leveling covering frequencies from 2 GHz to 20 GHz. Standard frequency models are available covering 2 to 8 GHz, 8 to 20 GHz and 2 to 20 GHz. Special customer defined frequency ranges within the entire frequency range are available on special order. Standard models are specified to operate over the 0 to +65 C temperature range.

BGA Socket Design: Wide Temperature Applications

Ironwood Electronics introduced a new BGA socket design using high performance elastomer capable of 94GHz, very low inductance and wide temperature applications. The GT-BGA-2145 socket is designed for 50x50 mm package size and operates at bandwidths up to 94GHz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. The socket is designed to dissipate 200 watts using a heat sink and an axial flow fan. Contact resistance is typically 30 milliohms per pin. The socket is mounted on the target PCB with no soldering, and uses very small real estate allowing capacitors/resistors to be placed close by.

94GHz Socket for LGA56

Ironwood Electronics introduced new LGA socket design using high performance elastomer capable of 94 GHz, very low inductance for ATE applications. The GTP-LGA-1002 socket is designed for 10x10 mm package size and operates at bandwidths up to 94 GHz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. Contact resistance is typically 30 milliohms per pin. Socket is mounted on the target PCB with no soldering, and uses very small real estate allowing capacitors/resistors to be placed close by. This socket utilizes swivel lid for initial setup. Once test program is verified, lid and protruded screws are removed.

Qorvo® to Create State-of-the-Art Semiconductor Packaging Center

Qorvo® has been selected by the U.S. government to create a State-of-the-Art (SOTA) Heterogeneous Integrated Packaging (SHIP) RF production and prototyping center. The SHIP program will ensure that microelectronics packaging expertise and leadership is available for both U.S. defense contractors and commercial clients that require design, validation, assembly, test and manufacturing of next-generation RF components.

The exclusive SHIP Other Transaction Agreement (OTA), worth up to $75 million, was awarded to Qorvo by the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Crane Division. This program is funded by the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering’s (OUSD R&E) Trusted and Assured Microelectronics Program (T&AM), and is administered by the Strategic & Spectrum Missions Advanced Resilient Trusted System (S²MARTS) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA), managed by National Security Technology Accelerator (NSTXL).

Under the SHIP program, Qorvo will design and deliver the highest levels of heterogeneous packaging integration. This is essential to meet the size, weight, power and cost (SWAP-C) requirements for next-generation phased array radar systems, unmanned vehicles, electronic warfare platforms and satellite communications.
