Waveguide Phase Equalizer

RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales support for the Qorvo QPF4518, 5.150 to 5.925GHz, WiFi Front End Module (FEM). Optimized for output power and EVM performance the FEM incorporates 32dB of transmit path gain and 16dB of receive path gain while providing up to 25dBm of 11n, MCS0 spectral mask compliant output power. Internal filtering rejects unwanted 2.4GHz signals by 25dB and Rx path pinouts allow for additional filtering. 5G NR Sub-6 GHz Device Testing Platform

Based on the R&S CMW platform, the latest version of the R&S CMW100 communications manufacturing test set is preparing the industry for 5G new radio (NR) sub-6 GHz devices. 3GPP's 5G NR will support frequency ranges up to 52.6 GHz, but initial 5G designs will use frequencies below 6 GHz with a focus on 3.5 GHz. For these sub-6 GHz carrier frequencies, 3GPP currently discusses a maximum bandwidth per component carrier of 100 MHz.

A new application note featuring NI AWR Design Environment discusses the novel design of a single-ended RF power amplifier (PA) that exploits the “sweet spots” in Class AB amplifier responses and optimizes third-harmonic termination to maximize the overall power-added efficiency (PAE) of the PA without compromising the linearity performance. The design flow uses Microwave Office circuit design software for all circuit simulations and focuses on finding accurate models for the devices and lumped elements used.

Model SBP-5037032518-1515-E1 is a power amplifier with a typical small signal gain of 25 dB and a nominal P1dB of +18 dBm across the frequency range of 50 to 70 GHz. The DC power requirement for the amplifier is +8 VDC/650 mA. The mechanical configuration offers an in line structure with WR-15 waveguides and UG-385/U flanges. Other port configurations, such as with 1.85 mm connectors or a right angle structure with WR-15 waveguides, are also available under different model numbers.

AMCOM’s AM02018041SF-3H is a broadband GaN power amplifier module. It is designed for general purpose applications. It operates from 2 to 18 GHz and typically delivers 12 W (41 dBm) of CW output power and 26 dB small signal gain. The module has a built-in TTL On/Off control. MAC Layer Support for LabVIEW 802.11 Framework

NI announced MAC layer support for its LabVIEW Communications 802.11 Application Framework. Wireless researchers can take advantage of the new multiuser MAC layer enhancements to the 802.11 Application Framework to go beyond the PHY layer to address complex network-level problems that must be solved to make the 5G vision a reality. The 802.11 Application Framework also supports up to 80 MHz of real-time bandwidth and full bidirectional communications and includes MAC layer features including CSMA/CA, RTS, CTS, NAV and retransmission.
