Multiport Vector Network Analyzer
The new R&S ZNBT20 from Rohde & Schwarz is the first true multiport vector network analyzer in the microwave range with up to 16 integrated test ports. The unique hardware architecture from the R&S ZNBT8 has been extended to 20 GHz. This allows users to characterize multiple devices under test in parallel and thus increase throughput tremendously. The R&S ZNBT offers the high measurement performance of a two-port network analyzer at each of its test ports.

Frequency Synthesizers: 2 to 16 GHz

Standard frequency models are available covering 2 to 8 GHz, 6 to 13 GHz and 8 to 16 GHz. Micro Lambda Wireless
KRYTAR’s 180-degree hybrid coupler delivers 3 dB of coupling over the full frequency range of 10 to 40 GHz in a single, compact package. Power Sensors: Wide Connector Choices
Power sensors are relied upon for calibration of high accuracy equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and other test equipment. Each cable or adaptor that is inserted in between a DUT (Device Under Test) and a power sensor adds more uncertainty that must be considered. The SC5413A is a 400 MHz to 6 GHz direct IQ modulator, up converting analog Inphase and Quadrature IF or IQ baseband directly to RF. The frequency range of the baseband/ IF is from DC to 160 MHz. It can also be operated as a single stage upconverter. The DC coupled differential IQ pair may be driven by any dual channel baseband source such as a dual channel arbitrary waveform generator.
Right-Angle Test Cables

Models SCW-1M1M006-S1 and SCW-VMVM006-S1 are 6” long, semi-rigid coaxial cables. RLC Electronics introduced a line of GPO and Miniature-GPO connectorized filters. These are available in all filter topologies, including tubular, cavity/comb, and lumped element, in frequencies up to 26.5 GHz (GPO), 40 GHz (GPPO) and 65 GHz (G3PO). Richardson RFPD announced availability and full design support for a new silicon carbide power MOSFET from Wolfspeed. According to Wolfspeed, the C2M0045170D is the industry’s first 1700 V, 45 m§Ù SiC MOSFET. It offers high-speed switching with low capacitances, avalanche ruggedness, fast intrinsic diode with low reverse recovery (Qrr), and it is easy to parallel and simple to drive. The new 1700 V platform enables smaller and higher-efficiency next-generation power conversion systems.
The CN1352 series directional couplers from Werbel Microwave LLC cover VHF and UHF communication applications. Continuous frequency range of 130 to 520-MHz. Low-PIM by design. Currently available in coupling values from 5 to 30 dB. Directivity is 20 dB min, 25 dB typical across the entire range. Maximum return loss is -19 dB at all ports. Internally terminated. Knowles Capacitors brand, Syfer, has just released a new addition to its range of High-Q MLCCs. Designated as the “H” series they are manufactured from a very stable, X8G High Q ceramic dielectric to provide Ultra-low ESR, with excellent low loss performance and low power consumption, in high environmental temperature and high frequency systems. They exhibit no aging effects, with stability under voltage and very low drift.

Rogers Corp. to Exhibit, Provide Education at DesignCon
Rogers Corp. will be exhibiting (booth # 702) and educating at the upcoming DesignCon (www.designcon.com). Now in its 21st year, DesignCon is a premiere event for design chip-circuit-and system-level engineers working on high-frequency analog and high-speed digital circuits. DesignCon 2016 is scheduled for January 19-21, 2016 (January 20-21 for the exhibition) at the Santa Clara Convention Center (Santa Clara, CA).
On the conference side, John Coonrod, Technical Marketing Manager for Rogers Advanced Connectivity Solutions, and author of the popular ROG Blog series, will participate in a 75-minute panel discussion targeting effective measurement methods for high-frequency/high-speed printed-circuit-board (PCB) materials.
This technical presentation will focus, in particular, on frequencies above 10 GHz, as needed for a growing number of applications, including many emerging wireless communications systems. Conducted by the IPC D-24c task group (www.ipc.org) on High Frequency Test Methods, the round-robin-style panel discussion (“Track 05: Characterize PCB Materials and Processing”) will explore the properties of some of the latest circuit materials and examine different methods for testing and characterizing those materials.
